About the Role
This Iceland Internship (Environmental Science) places you alongside one of our research teams conducting field studies based in Reykjavik, Iceland. You will help bring two creative publications to life while gathering real-world environmental and cultural data across Reykjavik and southern Iceland. It is an immersive opportunity to combine scientific fieldwork with storytelling and digital media for those eager to grow their experience in environmental science.
Key Responsibilities
- Support field research activities carried out by our Iceland-based expedition team.
- Contribute to the creation of an inaugural hiking trails magazine featuring short narratives that capture the culture and landscapes of Iceland.
- Help build a naturalist and cultural guide as a website or web app covering Reykjavik and south Iceland.
- Collect, document, and organize observations on the local environment and natural surroundings.
- Collaborate with team members to shape engaging, accurate content for both publications.
Qualifications
- An interest or background in environmental science, ecology, or a closely related field.
- Enthusiasm for field research, the outdoors, and travel to Iceland.
- Strong written communication skills suited to short-form storytelling and guide content.
- Comfort working as part of a collaborative research and content team.
- Adaptability and a willingness to engage with new cultures and environments.
