About the Role

As a Lab Instrumentation / Medical Device Validation Tester at Cognizant, you will help ensure that laboratory instrumentation software meets validation standards, satisfies regulatory expectations, and adheres to internal standard operating procedures (SOPs). Working from our Five Points, Wake County location, you will be a trusted contributor on the validation team, partnering across the organization to confirm that critical lab systems perform exactly as intended.

Key Responsibilities

• Validate laboratory instrumentation software to confirm it is reliable, compliant, and fit for purpose.
• Verify that systems align with applicable regulatory requirements and established internal SOPs.
• Document validation activities, findings, and outcomes to support compliance and audit readiness.
• Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders, including IT, Quality Assurance, and Laboratory Operations teams.
• Support the validation team in maintaining consistent, defensible testing practices across lab systems.

Qualifications

• Experience or strong interest in validation testing for laboratory instrumentation or medical device software.
• Familiarity with regulatory requirements and SOP-driven, compliance-focused environments.
• Strong attention to detail and disciplined documentation habits.
• Effective communication and teamwork skills to coordinate with IT, Quality Assurance, and Laboratory Operations.
