About the Role
As a School Bus Driver with Summit School Services, you'll safely transport students to and from school across the Yorkville and Kendall County community. This is a full-time, on-site position that comes with structured CDL training, making it ideal for first-time drivers, those re-entering the workforce, or anyone seeking meaningful work with a predictable, daytime-friendly rhythm. No previous driving experience is necessary — we'll teach you everything you need to know.
Key Responsibilities
- Transport students safely and on schedule along assigned routes in Yorkville and Kendall County
- Follow all traffic laws and Summit School Services safety procedures
- Conduct routine pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections
- Maintain a calm, supportive environment for student passengers
- Communicate clearly with school staff, families, and dispatch as needed
Qualifications
- No prior experience required — full CDL training is provided
- Willingness to complete the CDL training program and obtain the proper license
- Commitment to student safety and dependable attendance
- Comfortable working a split-hour, daytime schedule with no nights or weekends
- A positive, patient attitude toward working with children
