About the Role
As a Local Truck Driver based in Newark, Alameda County, you'll join J.B. Hunt Transport's Dedicated Contract Services division, hauling for one consistent account. This is a full-time CDL-A position built around predictable routes, reliable deliveries, and an activity-based pay structure that recognizes drivers who operate safely and efficiently. A limited-time bonus of up to $10,000 is currently available, including a $5,000 sign-on bonus.
Key Responsibilities
- Complete local pickups and deliveries for a dedicated J.B. Hunt customer on a regular schedule.
- Operate a commercial vehicle safely and in compliance with all DOT and company regulations.
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections to keep equipment road-ready.
- Maintain accurate trip, delivery, and hours-of-service records.
- Represent the company professionally in every customer interaction.
Qualifications
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL-A).
- A clean driving record and a demonstrated commitment to safety.
- Strong work ethic with the discipline to thrive in an activity-based pay environment.
- Dependability, attention to detail, and good time-management skills for local routes.
- Ability to meet DOT physical and regulatory requirements.
