About the Role
As Director Actuarial Services at Highmark Health, you will provide both managerial leadership and hands-on technical direction to an actuarial function based in Washington, D.C. Key Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise an actuarial staff that includes fellows, associates, actuarial candidates, and support personnel.
- Provide technical oversight across pricing and rate development activities.
- Direct assigned actuarial projects from planning through delivery, managing priorities and timelines.
- Develop, implement, and maintain robust actuarial policies and practices.
- Mentor team members and support the professional growth of actuarial candidates pursuing credentials.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience in actuarial pricing and rate development.
- Proven ability to manage and develop an actuarial team, including credentialed actuaries and candidates.
- Strong technical judgment and the capacity to establish and enforce actuarial policies and practices.
- Effective leadership, project management, and communication skills.
- Willingness to work on-site in Washington, D.C.
