About the Role
As a Senior Water Researcher at GiveWell, you will investigate giving opportunities related to water and assess their cost-effectiveness, contributing directly to decisions about how funding is allocated. This is a full-time, on-site position based in the US, ideal for a rigorous analytical thinker who wants their findings to drive meaningful philanthropic impact.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct in-depth research into water-related programs and interventions to evaluate their effectiveness and value per dollar spent.
- Help direct funding toward the most promising, evidence-backed giving opportunities.
- Synthesize complex evidence into clear, well-reasoned recommendations for internal teams and donors.
- Collaborate with colleagues across the research organization to strengthen analyses and refine conclusions.
- Communicate findings transparently in the careful, well-documented style GiveWell's audience relies on.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience conducting rigorous, quantitative research, ideally in global health, development, or a related field.
- Strong analytical judgment and comfort working with evidence to reach cost-effectiveness conclusions.
- Excellent written communication skills, with the ability to make complex topics accessible.
- A genuine commitment to evidence-driven giving and measurable impact.
- Eligibility to work full-time in the US.
