Vox Media is hiring a full-time Social Editor for The Strategist, based on-site in New York City, to lead the brand's voice across every major social platform. This is a chance to shape how a beloved recommendations brand shows up online and connects with a culturally engaged audience.
About the Role
As Social Editor for The Strategist at Vox Media in New York City, you'll own the day-to-day life of the brand's social channels. You'll dream up concepts, produce both written and video content, and steer coverage around major cultural moments — all while keeping the brand's distinctive, in-the-know personality front and center. This is a hands-on creative position for someone who lives on social media and instinctively understands what makes people stop scrolling.
Key Responsibilities
- Run and grow The Strategist's presence across the brand's social platforms.
- Generate fresh content ideas and turn them into polished posts.
- Write sharp, scroll-stopping captions that capture the brand's tone.
- Shoot and edit short-form video, including green-screen segments.
- Plan and coordinate tentpole moments and events across multiple channels.
- Serve as a culturally fluent voice for the brand in everything you publish.
Qualifications
- A natural feel for social platforms and the trends, formats, and conversations shaping them.
- Strong writing skills, with the ability to craft a flawless caption on demand.
- Hands-on experience filming and editing video, comfortable being on camera for green-screen takes.
- A sharp cultural radar and an editorial point of view that feels current and authentic.
- Organizational skills to manage coordinated campaigns and event coverage across platforms.
