About the Role
As a Host Home / Shared Living Provider, you welcome a supported individual into your residence and help them live as comfortably and independently as possible. Working as an Independent Contractor, your central focus is sustaining a secure, welcoming household while offering everyday guidance and encouragement. Because this position is tied to Iowa state funding, you must live within the state of Iowa and either own or rent the home where care is provided.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide a safe, clean, and stable home setting for the individual living with you.
- Offer day-to-day guidance, mentorship, and personal support tailored to their needs.
- Foster independence, dignity, and meaningful participation in household and community life.
- Maintain a dependable routine that promotes comfort, wellbeing, and trust.
- Communicate and coordinate with Vibrant SCL as part of an ongoing support relationship.
Qualifications
- Current residency in the state of Iowa (required for state-funded placement).
- Ownership or a rental agreement for the home where shared living takes place.
- Willingness to operate as an Independent Contractor.
- A genuine commitment to caring for and supporting another person within your home.
- Patience, reliability, and strong interpersonal skills.
