About the Role
As a SUE Field Technician based in Manassas, Prince William County, you will play a key part in our day-to-day subsurface utility engineering (SUE) operations. This full-time, entry-level position is ideal for someone eager to gain practical experience locating and mapping underground utilities. Working alongside an experienced Crew Chief or Office Coordinator, you'll learn to operate specialized field equipment and contribute directly to safe, accurate utility investigations across project sites.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the setup and operation of subsurface utility locating equipment in the field.
- Support geophysical prospecting efforts used to detect and trace buried utilities.
- Participate in daily SUE crew tasks under the direction of a Crew Chief or Office Coordinator.
- Help maintain field tools and equipment to ensure reliable, accurate data collection.
- Follow established safety procedures while performing work on active job sites.
Qualifications
- Interest in pursuing a career in subsurface utility engineering or field-based technical work.
- Willingness to learn how to operate utility locating and geophysical detection equipment.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a crew and take direction from team leadership.
