As a Security Guard for Gabriel House Supportive Housing, you serve as a steady, reassuring presence at one of Camba's New York City supportive housing sites. This full-time, in-person position centers on protecting people and property while fostering a welcoming, respectful environment for the individuals and families Camba serves.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor building entrances, common areas, and grounds to maintain a safe and secure setting for residents, staff, and guests.
- Greet, screen, and sign in visitors, verifying authorization before granting access.
- Conduct regular patrols and watch surveillance systems to identify and address potential concerns early.
- Respond promptly and calmly to incidents, emergencies, and disturbances, following established safety protocols.
- Document daily activity, observations, and incidents in clear, accurate written reports.
- Enforce site rules and procedures with consistency, professionalism, and compassion.
- Coordinate with program staff and emergency services as situations require.
Qualifications
- Valid New York State Security Guard license, or eligibility to obtain one.
- Reliable, attentive, and able to remain composed under pressure.
- Strong observation skills and sound judgment when assessing situations.
- Effective verbal and written communication for reporting and day-to-day interactions.
- Ability to perform the physical aspects of the role, including standing and patrolling throughout a shift.
- Commitment to treating every resident and visitor with courtesy and respect.
