Studio Leader, K-12 Education

DLR Group is hiring a Studio Leader, K-12 Education to lead our education design practice in Charlotte, Mecklenburg County. This is a full-time, in-office leadership opportunity for a visionary architect or designer passionate about shaping schools that inspire learning.

About the Role

As the Studio Leader, K-12 Education at DLR Group's Charlotte office, you will guide the strategic direction, growth, and creative output of our K-12 education studio. Operating within a collaborative, hybrid-friendly environment, you'll champion design excellence while mentoring teams and strengthening relationships with school districts and education clients across the region.

Key Responsibilities

• Set the vision and business strategy for the K-12 education studio in Charlotte
• Lead, mentor, and develop a multidisciplinary team of designers and architects
• Cultivate and grow client partnerships with school districts and educational institutions
• Oversee the quality and integrity of design work from concept through completion
• Drive business development and pursue new opportunities in the K-12 education market
• Collaborate across DLR Group's integrated practice to deliver outstanding learning environments

Qualifications

• Demonstrated leadership experience within K-12 education design or a related architecture practice
• A strong portfolio reflecting thoughtful, human-centered educational spaces
• Proven ability to win work, manage clients, and grow a studio or practice area
• Skilled at mentoring talent and building high-performing, collaborative teams
• Professional background in architecture or design relevant to educational facilities
• Availability to work on-site in Charlotte, Mecklenburg County within a hybrid setting
