About the Role

The Underground Groundman is an entry-level, full-time position focused on the construction, maintenance, and repair of underground electrical distribution systems. In this on-site role based out of Wake Forest, Wake County, you will assist crews across a range of job sites. Because work is driven by customer needs, occasional travel — including to other states — may be required.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the construction of new underground electrical distribution systems alongside experienced crew members.
• Assist with the ongoing maintenance and repair of underground distribution infrastructure.
• Follow all safety procedures and prioritize safe work practices on every task and at every location.
• Travel to various job sites, and to other states when customer demand requires it.
• Learn the tools, equipment, and techniques used in underground utility construction.

Qualifications

• Willingness to start at the entry level and learn the fundamentals of underground electrical distribution work.
• A strong commitment to working safely and following established safety standards.
• Ability to perform physically demanding outdoor labor in varying conditions.
• Flexibility to work at multiple locations and to travel out of state as needed.
• Reliability, a strong work ethic, and the ability to contribute as part of a crew.
