About the Role

The Custodian position at Alsco — sometimes called a Janitor — centers on the upkeep and cleanliness of our equipment, building interiors, and surrounding grounds. This is a full-time, non-exempt hourly role based on-site in Norfolk, Norfolk City, with a base pay of $16 per hour. Key Responsibilities

• Maintain the overall cleanliness and general condition of equipment, facilities, and grounds.
• Carry out heavy-duty cleaning, including clearing plant equipment using compressed air and other appropriate methods.
• Scrub, sanitize, and vacuum work areas, surfaces, and floors to uphold a hygienic environment.
• Support day-to-day facility upkeep and complete additional cleaning or maintenance tasks as assigned.

Qualifications

• Ability to perform physically demanding cleaning duties throughout a full shift.
• Comfort operating cleaning tools and equipment, including compressed-air methods, safely and correctly.
• Reliability, attention to detail, and a consistent commitment to cleanliness standards.
• Willingness to take on a variety of tasks as operational needs arise.
• Availability to work on-site in Norfolk, Norfolk City (this role is not remote).
