AERO Special Education Cooperative
AERO Special Education Cooperative is seeking a dedicated Job Developer for the 26-27 SY to build meaningful employment pathways for students at the A.E.R.O. Therapeutic Center, a high-needs school in the US. This full-time, on-site role connects classroom learning to real-world careers in the surrounding community.
About the Role
As a Job Developer, you will serve as the vital link between our students and area employers. Your work centers on cultivating community partnerships, locating fresh placement opportunities, and ensuring each student is paired with work that fits their individual strengths. This is a hands-on, relationship-driven position based at the A.E.R.O. Therapeutic Center, with an anticipated start date of August 12, 2026.
Key Responsibilities
- Cultivate and sustain long-term partnerships with local employers across the community.
- Research, create, and secure new job sites suited to student vocational goals.
- Assess each student's range of abilities and align them with fitting employment opportunities.
- Coordinate with school staff to support successful student placements and transitions to work.
- Act as an ongoing advocate and resource for both students and participating employers.
Qualifications
- Experience in job development, vocational services, employment coaching, or a closely related field.
- Strong interpersonal and networking skills for building employer relationships.
- Ability to evaluate individual student skills and match them to appropriate work settings.
- Commitment to supporting students with diverse needs in a therapeutic, high-needs educational environment.
- Availability for a full-time, in-person schedule at the A.E.R.O. Therapeutic Center.
