About the Role
As an Optician Level 1 at Walmart in Hampstead, Carroll County, you'll be the friendly expert who guides shoppers through selecting, fitting, and caring for their glasses. This is a full-time, on-site position ideal for detail-oriented professionals who enjoy combining customer service with technical eyewear knowledge.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet customers and assist them in choosing frames and lenses suited to their needs and prescriptions
- Take accurate measurements and adjust, fit, and repair eyewear for proper comfort and alignment
- Interpret prescriptions and explain lens options, coatings, and care instructions
- Process orders and maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming Vision Center
- Deliver attentive, courteous service that reflects Walmart's commitment to its community
Qualifications
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a genuine focus on customer care
- Attention to detail and comfort working with precise measurements and small components
- Ability to learn eyewear fitting techniques and optical product knowledge
- Availability for a full-time schedule at the Hampstead, Carroll County location
Compensation
This role offers an hourly wage of $19.50 to $27.50 per hour. The actual rate will meet or exceed the minimum wage required for the job location. Additional earnings may include annual or quarterly performance incentives, and premium pay ranging from $0.35 to $3.00 per hour may apply in specific situations based on factors such as schedule and facility.
