About the Role
As a Site Work Estimator, you will take ownership of the estimating function for site development and construction projects, translating plans, specifications, and field conditions into accurate, competitive bids. This on-site position in North Haven, Connecticut, places you at the center of how the company wins and delivers work, making it a high-visibility seat with real influence over project outcomes and company growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for site work and commercial construction projects, including takeoffs of materials, labor, and equipment.
- Review drawings, specifications, and scopes of work to identify project requirements and potential risks.
- Solicit and evaluate pricing from subcontractors and suppliers to build complete, accurate bids.
- Partner with project managers, field crews, and leadership to align estimates with operational capacity and budget targets.
- Maintain organized estimating records and contribute to refining the firm's bidding process as it modernizes.
Qualifications
- Hands-on experience estimating site work, civil, or commercial construction projects.
- Strong ability to read and interpret construction drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
- Proficiency with quantity takeoffs and estimating tools or software.
- Sharp attention to detail, sound math skills, and confidence managing competing deadlines.
- Clear communicator who collaborates effectively with internal teams, subcontractors, and vendors.
- Willingness to work on-site in North Haven, CT (this is not a remote role).
