About the Role
As a Direct Support Professional with Association For Individual Development, you will provide hands-on, person-centered care that helps individuals with physical, developmental, intellectual, and mental health challenges live with dignity and purpose. This is an on-site, full-time position based in South Elgin, Illinois — a meaningful opportunity for caregivers who lead with empathy and a sense of mission. A $1,000 sign-on bonus is offered.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver direct, individualized support to people with disabilities and those who have experienced trauma or are at risk.
- Assist participants with daily living activities, personal care, and routines that promote independence.
- Champion each person's safety, well-being, and right to a life of dignity and purpose.
- Build trusting, respectful relationships that reflect the organization's mission of empowerment.
Qualifications
- Experience or training as a CNA (Certified Nursing Assistant) or Direct Support Professional (DSP) is valued.
- A genuine commitment to supporting people with diverse abilities and backgrounds.
- Patience, reliability, and strong interpersonal communication skills.
- Willingness to work on-site in South Elgin, Kane County, Illinois.
