About the Role
As the Human Resources Compliance Specialist, you will act as a central resource for employment-law compliance throughout Haynes and Boone, LLP. Working closely with HR leadership, you will keep the Firm ahead of regulatory developments, reduce exposure to risk, and ensure that policies and recordkeeping consistently meet federal, state, and local requirements at every U.S. location.
Key Responsibilities
- Track and interpret new and pending legislation affecting employment, escalating relevant changes to stakeholders.
- Review and audit internal HR practices to confirm they align with applicable federal, state, and local laws.
- Develop, update, and maintain compliant workplace policies, procedures, and supporting documentation.
- Partner with HR leadership to identify potential compliance gaps and recommend strategies that mitigate risk.
- Serve as a knowledgeable point of contact for compliance-related questions across the Firm's U.S. offices.
Qualifications
- Working knowledge of U.S. federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to audit practices and spot compliance issues before they escalate.
- Experience drafting and maintaining HR policies, procedures, and related documentation.
- Excellent communication skills and the discretion to handle sensitive, confidential information.
- A proactive, organized approach suited to managing compliance across multiple locations.
