Gardner-Webb University is hiring a full-time Athletic Graduate Intern–Swimming Coach in Shelby, Cleveland County, to support the Men's and Women's Swimming program. This on-campus graduate internship blends hands-on coaching experience with the mentorship and academic growth that define collegiate athletics.
About the Role
As the Athletic Graduate Intern for Swimming at Gardner-Webb University, you will work alongside the coaching staff to develop student-athletes both in the pool and in the classroom. This is an ideal opportunity for an emerging coach who is passionate about NCAA swimming and committed to the University's mission and values.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the planning and execution of daily practices and training sessions for the men's and women's swimming teams.
- Contribute to recruiting efforts and help identify prospective student-athletes.
- Monitor and encourage the academic progress and overall development of team members.
- Help ensure full compliance with University policies and NCAA regulations at all times.
- Assist with additional program and team duties as assigned by the coaching staff.
Qualifications
- A genuine dedication to the mission and values of Gardner-Webb University.
- Knowledge of, and the ability to operate within, NCAA and institutional guidelines.
- Strong organizational and interpersonal skills suited to a collegiate athletics environment.
- Eligibility to enroll in a graduate program, consistent with a graduate internship position.
- A background, interest, or experience in competitive swimming is highly valued.
