Syracuse Northeast Community Center (SNCC) is hiring a full-time Employment Specialist in Syracuse, Onondaga County, to help neighbors build pathways toward stable work and lasting self-reliance. About the Role
As an Employment Specialist with Syracuse Northeast Community Center, you will support local residents as they move from crisis toward independence, health, and wellbeing. This on-site, full-time position in Syracuse focuses on connecting community members with meaningful employment and the resources they need to succeed.
Key Responsibilities
- Guide neighbors through the job-search process, from goal-setting to placement and follow-up.
- Connect clients with employment opportunities, training programs, and supportive services.
- Partner with local employers and community organizations to open doors for job seekers.
- Support SNCC's mission of helping individuals and families transition from emergency to self-reliance.
- Maintain accurate records of client progress and outcomes.
Qualifications
- A genuine commitment to community empowerment and workforce development.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills for working with diverse populations.
- Ability to build trust and motivate individuals facing barriers to employment.
- Organized, dependable, and able to manage a varied caseload.
- Comfortable collaborating with employers, partner agencies, and community members.
