Serco is seeking a detail-driven Construction Quality Control Specialist to join its mission-critical operations supporting the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) at the Pituffik Space Base (formerly Thule) in Greenland. Based out of Reston in Fairfax County, this full-time, on-site role places you at the heart of a high-profile infrastructure modernization effort in one of the world's most demanding environments.
About the Role
As the on-site Construction Quality Control Specialist, you will oversee the quality standards of a major renovation of the Power Building (J-Plant) at Pituffik Space Base. The project includes outfitting the facility with High-Altitude Electromagnetic Pulse (HEMP) protective measures, ensuring the installation meets rigorous engineering, safety, and contractual specifications throughout every phase of construction.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and verify that all construction work on the J-Plant renovation conforms to project plans, specifications, and applicable codes.
- Oversee the implementation of HEMP protective measures and confirm proper installation procedures are followed.
- Conduct on-site inspections, document findings, and report quality control results to USACE and project leadership.
- Identify deficiencies, track corrective actions, and confirm resolution before work proceeds.
- Maintain accurate quality assurance records and support compliance with federal construction standards.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience in construction quality control, inspection, or quality assurance on infrastructure or federal projects.
- Familiarity with USACE construction standards and quality control procedures is highly valued.
- Willingness and ability to work on-site at Pituffik Space Base, Greenland, in a remote and challenging climate.
- Strong documentation, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of electrical or power facility construction and HEMP protective systems is advantageous.
