About the Role
As a Device Modeling & Characterization Engineer, you will help bridge the gap between manufactured silicon and the design teams that rely on it. Based at our Essex Junction site, you'll measure, analyze, and model the electrical behavior of advanced semiconductor devices, building the compact models that designers use to bring new chips to life. This new college graduate position offers structured mentorship and hands-on exposure to a working foundry.
Key Responsibilities
- Characterize the electrical performance of transistors and related semiconductor devices across operating conditions.
- Develop, calibrate, and validate compact device models that accurately represent fabricated silicon.
- Perform on-wafer and bench measurements, then translate raw data into actionable engineering insight.
- Partner with process, design, and technology development teams to refine models and resolve discrepancies.
- Document methodologies and contribute to the continuous improvement of modeling flows.
Qualifications
- A 2026 graduate completing a degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Materials Science, or a closely related field.
- Foundational understanding of semiconductor device physics and transistor operation.
- Familiarity with electrical measurement, data analysis, or device simulation tools.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and clear communication.
- Willingness to work on-site full-time in Essex Junction, Chittenden County.
