About the Role

Pace Drivers is hiring a full-time Local Class A Flatbed Driver to run daytime (1st shift) routes serving the Rustburg and greater Lynchburg, Virginia area. This is a home-time-friendly local position for an experienced flatbed operator who takes pride in safe loading, secure freight, and on-time deliveries. The role offers an hourly rate of $26–$32, along with competitive compensation and opportunities to grow within the company.

Key Responsibilities

• Safely operate a Class A flatbed tractor-trailer on local and regional routes throughout the Campbell County and Lynchburg region.
• Load, secure, tarp, and unload flatbed freight in line with safety standards and DOT regulations.
• Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections to keep equipment road-ready.
• Maintain accurate driving logs, delivery paperwork, and compliance records.
• Communicate clearly with dispatch and customers to ensure smooth, timely deliveries.
• Represent Pace Drivers professionally at every pickup and drop-off point.

Qualifications

• Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL).
• Prior flatbed experience, including securing and tarping loads, is strongly preferred.
• Solid knowledge of DOT regulations and a commitment to safe driving practices.
• Ability to perform the physical demands of flatbed work, such as securing freight and tarping.
• Reliable, detail-oriented, and able to manage local routes independently.
