About the Role
The 2027 Summer Associate program at Jackson Lewis offers law students a hands-on introduction to a firm built entirely around the relationship between business and the workplace. Working alongside experienced attorneys in our Long Island, Queens office, you will gain real exposure to the matters that shape how employers manage, protect, and grow their workforces. This full-time, on-site summer position is designed to develop your research, writing, and advocacy skills while giving you a clear view of life as an attorney at a national employment and labor practice.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct legal research and prepare memoranda on employment and labor law questions
- Draft documents, correspondence, and other written work product under attorney supervision
- Collaborate with attorneys and project teams on active client matters
- Participate in firm training, mentorship, and professional development sessions
- Observe meetings, proceedings, and client interactions to understand practical legal strategy
Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in an accredited Juris Doctor (J.D.) program and on track for a 2027 summer placement
- Strong legal research, analytical, and written communication abilities
- Demonstrated interest in employment, labor, or workplace law
- Attention to detail, professionalism, and the ability to manage multiple assignments
- Availability to work full-time and on-site in the Long Island, Queens area
