Manhattan I is hiring a dedicated Infant/Toddler Lead Teacher to join our early childhood education team in East Harlem, Manhattan — a full-time, on-site opportunity to shape the earliest and most formative years of a child's learning journey.

About the Role

As an Infant/Toddler Lead Teacher with Manhattan I in East Harlem, you will guide a classroom of infants and young toddlers in a true school environment — not a daycare setting. We believe the youngest learners thrive when stimulating, developmentally appropriate experiences are paired with genuinely warm, nurturing care. In this role, you will set the tone for a safe, engaging classroom where curiosity is encouraged and every child feels supported from their very first days.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage an infant and toddler classroom, taking ownership of daily routines and the learning environment.
• Deliver an age-appropriate curriculum that promotes development for infants and one-year-olds and up.
• Provide attentive, affectionate care that helps each child feel secure, valued, and ready to explore.
• Build trusting relationships with families and communicate regularly about each child's progress.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming space that meets the high standards of a school-focused program.

Qualifications

• Experience caring for and teaching infants and toddlers in an early childhood or classroom setting.
• A genuine commitment to nurturing care combined with structured, developmentally appropriate learning.
• Strong communication skills for collaborating with colleagues and partnering with families.
• Reliability, patience, and the ability to lead a classroom with warmth and confidence.
• Availability to work full-time, on-site in East Harlem, Manhattan.
