Yale University invites dedicated educators and program staff to join the Yale Young African Scholars (YYAS) Residential Program, a full-time, on-site role supporting one of Yale's signature academic enrichment initiatives in the United States.
About the Role
The Yale Young African Scholars - Residential Program brings talented secondary-school students from across Africa together for an intensive academic and leadership experience. As a member of the residential team, you will help create a safe, engaging, and intellectually stimulating environment that allows participants to thrive both inside and outside the classroom. This is a full-time, in-person position based in the U.S. and is not a remote opportunity.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the daily operation of the YYAS residential program and ensure a welcoming environment for visiting scholars.
- Mentor and supervise students throughout academic sessions, workshops, and community activities.
- Coordinate logistics, schedules, and student well-being in partnership with program leadership.
- Foster an inclusive community that reflects Yale University's commitment to access, excellence, and global engagement.
Qualifications
- A genuine interest in education, youth development, and supporting students from diverse backgrounds.
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills suited to a residential setting.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team committed to student success.
- Availability for a full-time, on-site commitment in the United States.
