Practice Leader – Water/Wastewater

Kimley-Horn is seeking a driven Practice Leader - Water/Wastewater to grow our Water/Wastewater and Utilities practice in Spokane, Spokane County, WA. This full-time, on-site leadership role offers the chance to shape a thriving engineering team while delivering impactful infrastructure projects across the region.

About the Role

As Practice Leader - Water/Wastewater at Kimley-Horn in Spokane, you will direct and build multi-discipline project teams while strengthening our regional presence in water and wastewater engineering. This position blends technical leadership, team development, and business growth across a broad portfolio of utility and conveyance work.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead, manage, and grow practice teams handling multi-discipline projects and programs.
• Oversee water and wastewater treatment projects from concept through delivery.
• Guide the design and execution of water and wastewater pumping systems.
• Direct large-diameter conveyance efforts, including water distribution and wastewater collection systems.
• Expand the Water/Wastewater and Utilities practice through client relationships and new opportunities in the Spokane market.
• Mentor staff and foster collaboration across engineering disciplines.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated leadership in water/wastewater or utilities engineering practice.
• Hands-on experience with treatment facilities, pumping systems, and large-diameter conveyance projects.
• Proven ability to manage multi-discipline teams and complex programs of work.
• Strong client-focused mindset with a track record of growing engineering practices.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and team-building skills.
