Rising Ground is hiring a full-time Youth Counselor (Justice for Youth & Families) to support young people in our residential program in Jerome, Bronx. In this essential role, you'll provide direct care and mentorship to youth, working across all hours of the day and night to create a safe, structured environment where young people can thrive. About the Role Youth Counselors at Rising Ground are central to our residential program. You'll serve as a consistent, caring presence in the daily lives of the young people in our care. Working from morning routines through evening activities and overnight shifts, you'll provide supervision, structure, and support as part of a dedicated team committed to helping youth succeed. What You'll Do Provide direct supervision and support to assigned youth residents throughout the day and overnight hours Facilitate daily living routines including meals, personal care, recreational activities, and rest time Build positive, trusting relationships with youth through consistent daily interaction Support youth in developing life skills and healthy habits Maintain detailed records of youth activities, behavior, and progress Work collaboratively with counselors, social workers, and other team members Ensure the residential environment remains safe, clean, and orderly Respond to behavioral challenges appropriately and professionally What We're Looking For High school diploma or GED Genuine commitment to supporting young people Ability to work flexible schedules including evenings, nights, and weekends Strong communication and interpersonal skills Patience, maturity, and sound judgment in handling difficult situations Physical ability to manage an active residential setting Valid driver's license preferred Willingness to pass background screening and complete required training About Rising Ground Rising Ground supports young people and families throughout New York City.
