Sandhills Community College is seeking a knowledgeable industry professional to join our Workforce and Continuing Education (WCE) team as a WCE Part-Time Instructor, Electromechanical Systems Technology in Pinehurst, Moore County. In this on-site teaching role, you will help adult learners build the hands-on skills that power advanced manufacturing and automated industries across North Carolina.
About the Role
As a part-time WCE instructor, you will deliver continuing education instruction in electromechanical systems technology, guiding students through the blend of mechanical, electrical, and control concepts used in modern automated equipment. This position is based on campus in Pinehurst and is not a remote opportunity.
Key Responsibilities
- Teach electromechanical systems technology coursework to workforce and continuing education students.
- Plan engaging lessons that connect classroom theory with practical, hands-on lab application.
- Demonstrate equipment operation, troubleshooting, and maintenance techniques relevant to industry.
- Assess student progress and provide clear, constructive feedback.
- Maintain a safe, organized, and supportive learning environment.
- Keep accurate records consistent with college policies and continuing education guidelines.
Qualifications
- Practical experience in electromechanical systems, industrial maintenance, automation, or a closely related technical field.
- Strong working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and control system fundamentals.
- Ability to communicate technical material clearly to adult learners of varying experience levels.
- Commitment to student success and to fostering an inclusive classroom.
- Availability to teach on site in Pinehurst, Moore County.
