Veolia North America is recruiting a Wastewater Operations Supervisor to lead operational excellence at our Plainsboro, Middlesex County facility. As a full-time supervisor, you'll oversee critical wastewater treatment processes while managing and developing a dedicated operations team.
About the Role
We're looking for an experienced operations professional to step into a supervisory role that combines hands-on technical knowledge with team leadership. In this position, you'll directly impact the quality of water treatment services we provide to our communities while ensuring our facility operates at peak efficiency and safety.
What You'll Do
- Supervise daily wastewater treatment operations and oversee the work of operations technicians and operators
- Monitor treatment processes, equipment performance, and system parameters to maintain operational standards
- Ensure compliance with environmental regulations, permits, and safety protocols
- Troubleshoot operational challenges and coordinate preventive and corrective maintenance activities
- Maintain accurate operational records, documentation, and reporting requirements
- Train and mentor staff on procedures, safety practices, and equipment operation
- Manage schedules, coordinate shift operations, and address staffing needs
What We're Looking For
- High school diploma or GED required; technical certification in wastewater operations preferred
- Minimum 5+ years of wastewater treatment operations experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or lead role
- Strong knowledge of wastewater treatment processes, equipment, and plant operations
- Understanding of environmental regulations and compliance requirements
- Proven ability to manage teams, communicate effectively, and solve problems under pressure
- Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement
