The Opportunity This full-time WA Refrigeration Mechanic / HVAC opening with Techforce Personnel lets an experienced tradesperson apply practical know-how across installation, maintenance and repair work throughout The Hill and the broader Newcastle Area. You will keep commercial and light industrial plant operating efficiently, solve problems on the spot, and deliver work that meets Australian safety and environmental standards while building a steady local reputation. Day-to-Day Responsibilities Install, commission, service and repair refrigeration systems, air-conditioning units and related HVAC plant Diagnose faults in mechanical, electrical and control components using standard test instruments and procedures Perform scheduled preventative maintenance to reduce breakdowns and extend equipment life Recover, store and recharge refrigerants correctly while following current Australian handling regulations Interpret technical drawings, wiring diagrams and manufacturer documentation to guide accurate work Complete clear service reports, update job records and liaise professionally with clients and supervisors Apply workplace health and safety rules on every site and maintain a tidy, professional workspace Requirements Recognised trade qualification in refrigeration and air-conditioning or an equivalent HVAC pathway Current Australian refrigerant handling licence and sound knowledge of environmental compliance Demonstrated hands-on experience as a refrigeration mechanic or HVAC technician Strong diagnostic mindset, mechanical aptitude and the ability to work methodically under pressure Valid driver’s licence together with reliable transport for travel around The Hill and Newcastle Area Clear communication skills and the capacity to work both independently and as part of a small crew Commitment to safe work practices and continuous improvement of technical skills Working at Techforce Personnel Techforce Personnel is hiring for this role and offers a supportive team environment that helps skilled tradespeople in The Hill and the Newcastle Area find suitable full-time placements aligned with their refrigeration and HVAC expertise.
