The Jewish Board is hiring a full-time Therapist in Queens, New York City to deliver Brief Strategic Family Therapy (BSFT) to families navigating challenging behavioral situations. About the Role

As a Therapist within the Preventive Services Department, you will put the evidence-based Brief Strategic Family Therapy model into practice with households that include children and adolescents between the ages of 6 and 17. These young people may be experiencing a range of behavioral concerns, and your work will center on supporting the entire family system as part of The Jewish Board's child welfare mission. This is a full-time, in-person position based in Queens, New York City.

Key Responsibilities

  • Apply the BSFT framework with families to address behavioral challenges in children aged 6 to 17.
  • Provide targeted support around concerns such as school truancy, substance use, conduct difficulties, and delinquency.
  • Engage parents, caregivers, and youth to identify and shift family interaction patterns that contribute to these issues.
  • Contribute to the broader child welfare services delivered through the Preventive Services Department.
  • Maintain accurate clinical records and documentation consistent with program and regulatory standards.

Qualifications

  • Clinical background suited to delivering family-focused therapeutic services.
  • Familiarity with, or willingness to be trained in, the Brief Strategic Family Therapy (BSFT) model.
  • Experience working with children, adolescents, and families presenting with behavioral and conduct-related concerns.
  • Strong engagement, communication, and relationship-building skills across diverse family settings.
  • Availability to work full-time on-site in Queens, New York City.
