Icarus is hiring a full-time Technician to join its growing team in El Segundo, Los Angeles County — a hands-on build role at the forefront of solar-powered, high-altitude aircraft development.

About the Role

At Icarus, the Stratosphere is more than atmosphere — it's an untapped operational layer that the company is engineering aircraft to occupy. These solar-powered platforms sustain flight above 60,000 feet for weeks at a time, delivering persistent, affordable aerial presence that neither satellites nor conventional aircraft can replicate. As a Technician at this El Segundo aerospace company, you'll be a direct contributor to the hardware that makes that possible — building, testing, and maintaining vehicles designed to operate where almost nothing else flies.

What You'll Do

• Fabricate, assemble, and integrate airframe structures and subsystems using engineering drawings and work instructions
• Support ground testing of propulsion, power, avionics, and communications systems
• Perform inspections, scheduled maintenance, and hands-on repairs on aircraft and related ground support equipment
• Troubleshoot hardware anomalies and document findings accurately in engineering and maintenance logs
• Assist engineers during pre-flight processing, flight operations, and post-flight teardown
• Work with lightweight composite structures, wiring harnesses, and precision components common to high-altitude unmanned systems
• Uphold shop cleanliness, organization, and safety standards at all times

What We're Looking For

• Practical technical experience in aerospace, aviation, manufacturing, or a related discipline — Icarus welcomes candidates across a range of experience levels
• Proficiency with precision hand tools, measuring instruments, and mechanical or electrical systems
• Ability to read engineering drawings, assembly schematics, or technical work instructions
• Sharp attention to detail and a methodical, safety-conscious approach to technical tasks
• Collaborative mindset and willingness to support wherever the build demands
• Background in composites, avionics, or unmanned/high-altitude systems is a plus but not a requirement
