If you're a qualified tax professional ready to own processes end-to-end and shape how a modern Merchant of Record operates, this is your opportunity. About the Role As a Tax Manager at Paddle, you'll sit within a sophisticated and expanding tax function that underpins our Merchant of Record model. Because tax is central to what makes Paddle valuable to our customers, the team is treated as a strategic engine for the wider company. Reporting to the VP of Tax, you'll take charge of tax accounting, reporting, and mixed compliance across the group, working alongside a collaborative international team of ten and drawing on fellow managers and analysts to deliver across both direct and indirect tax. This role is remote within the UK, with the expectation of joining our London headquarters one to two days each week. Key Responsibilities The exact mix flexes with your background, but the scope can grow to include: Owning multi-territory tax compliance, including filings, payments, accounting entries, and audit management. Leading transfer pricing policy, R&D claims, and broader tax planning. Running one-off initiatives such as new corporate structures or registrations, and resolving ad hoc tax questions from customers. Managing third-party advisors and agents to ensure timely, high-quality delivery. Coordinating wider workstreams by tapping into the group's managers and analysts. Mentoring junior colleagues and nurturing a culture of shared knowledge. Tracking global tax legislation and assessing its impact on Paddle. Qualifications A recognised professional accounting and/or tax qualification. 3–10 years of post-qualification experience in direct, indirect, or mixed tax, ideally in a complex multinational setting. Solid understanding of the tax landscape for multinational groups. Confidence influencing cross-functional stakeholders at every level. A track record of holding external advisors accountable for delivery. Strong hands-on skills with large datasets in Excel and Google Sheets; familiarity with NetSuite, SQL, or other tax technology is a plus.
