About the Role

As the Swim Team Coach at the YMCA of Metropolitan Atlanta in Covington, Newton County, you'll lead our competitive swim program with energy, expertise, and genuine care for every swimmer. This is a full-time, on-site position dedicated to developing skill, confidence, and a lifelong love of the water in athletes of all ages and abilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and run engaging practice sessions that build technique, endurance, and sportsmanship.
• Coach swimmers through training and competition, offering constructive feedback that fuels growth.
• Champion a safe, inclusive, and encouraging team culture aligned with the Y's mission.
• Communicate clearly with swimmers, parents, and fellow staff about goals, progress, and schedules.
• Support the broader work of youth development, healthy living, and community connection at the Y.

Qualifications

• Hands-on coaching, swim instruction, or competitive swimming experience.
• Strong knowledge of stroke mechanics, training methods, and meet procedures.
• A motivating, patient leadership style that brings out the best in young athletes.
• Reliable availability for a full-time, in-person schedule in Covington, Newton County.
• A heartfelt commitment to the values that guide everything we do at the Y.
