Swim Instructor (Part-Time)

Join the Aquatics Team at YMCA of Central Massachusetts as a Part-Time Swim Instructor at our Tri-Community Family Branch in Southbridge, Worcester County. We're seeking dedicated instructors to teach swimming skills, build water confidence, and prioritize pool safety for our diverse membership.

About the Role

As a Swim Instructor, you'll make a direct impact on our community by leading engaging swimming lessons and water safety programs. This part-time position offers flexible scheduling and the opportunity to work with people of all ages and abilities—from young children taking their first strokes to adults building new skills in the water.

What You'll Do

• Lead swimming lessons for youth, children, families, and adult members across multiple skill levels
• Teach proper swimming techniques, stroke fundamentals, and water safety practices
• Assess student progress and adapt instruction to individual learning needs
• Maintain a safe, supportive pool environment and enforce aquatic safety protocols
• Collaborate with the Aquatics Team to deliver quality programming
• Demonstrate proficiency in water safety and rescue techniques as required

What We're Looking For

• Passion for aquatics, swimming instruction, and community engagement
• Current certification in water safety, aquatic instruction, or equivalent qualifications
• Experience teaching or coaching in aquatic settings preferred
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work effectively with diverse populations across age groups
• Commitment to maintaining the highest safety standards
