Itasca Area Schools Collaborative is hiring Substitute Teachers starting Fall 2026 to support Northland Community Schools across the United States, stepping into K-12 classrooms whenever regular educators are away.
About the Role
As a Substitute Teacher with Itasca Area Schools Collaborative, you will join the Northland Community Schools District (118) on a full-time basis, covering temporary absences in a wide range of K-12 classrooms. This on-site position keeps learning moving forward day to day, giving you the chance to teach across multiple grade levels and subjects while contributing to a community committed to helping every student reach their full potential.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead K-12 classrooms during the scheduled absence of the assigned teacher.
- Follow lesson plans and instructional materials left by the regular educator.
- Maintain a safe, respectful, and focused learning environment for all students.
- Manage classroom routines, supervise students, and support daily instruction.
- Communicate clearly with school staff and report on each day's activities.
- Adapt to varied classrooms, subjects, and grade levels as assignments arise.
Qualifications
- A valid K-12 instructional or substitute teaching license, as required for licensed instructional roles.
- Flexibility to work across different grade levels and classroom settings.
- Strong classroom management and communication skills.
- Reliability and a genuine commitment to student learning and well-being.
- Ability to work on-site within the Northland Community Schools District (US); this is not a remote position.
