Webster County Schools is hiring a full-time Substitute Custodian through West Virginia K-12 Jobs to help keep our school facilities clean, safe, and welcoming for students and staff across multiple Webster, US locations.
About the Role
As a Substitute Custodian with West Virginia K-12 Jobs, you will step in to cover custodial and maintenance duties on an as-needed basis at school sites throughout Webster County. This full-time, on-site position is ideal for dependable individuals who take pride in maintaining clean, orderly learning environments and are ready to support school operations wherever they are needed.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform general cleaning of classrooms, restrooms, hallways, offices, and common areas.
- Handle routine custodial and light maintenance tasks to keep facilities safe and functional.
- Empty trash, sanitize surfaces, sweep, mop, and care for floors and fixtures.
- Respond to spills, cleanups, and facility needs as they arise during the school day.
- Fill in at multiple Webster County school locations as substitute coverage is requested.
- Follow safety guidelines and proper handling procedures for cleaning supplies and equipment.
Qualifications
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work on short notice across different school sites.
- Capable of performing physical tasks, including lifting, standing, and moving throughout shifts.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to cleanliness and student safety.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a school facilities team.
- Willingness to travel between multiple Webster County locations as assigned.
