Aurora Innovation is recruiting for a full-time Staff Technical Program Manager specializing in Vehicle Security to lead high-impact programs from our San Francisco location. In this role, you'll orchestrate security initiatives spanning vehicle and platform systems for the Aurora Driver, working across multiple engineering and security domains. Role Overview This position manages security programs that span Aurora's vehicle and platform infrastructure. Reporting to the Security PMO within OneTech's Business Operations pillar, you'll own multi-quarter initiatives requiring close partnership with security architects, embedded engineers, and platform leads. Your programs integrate with Aurora's safety systems and support development of a safety-critical, field-deployed autonomous fleet. Key Responsibilities Own large-scale security programs addressing vehicle and platform domains across Product Security, Cloud Security, Security Engineering, Security Operations, GRC, and Enterprise IT functions Define and maintain governance structures for security initiatives, including strategic roadmaps, risk registries, cross-team dependency tracking, and escalation procedures Execute security programs from conception through delivery and safety system integration Synchronize work across security architects, embedded systems teams, and vehicle platform engineers while resolving interdependencies in a safety-critical environment Build executive awareness of program progress via dashboards and leadership communications highlighting security objective status and milestones What You Bring 8-10+ years managing technical programs within technology organizations, including roles in technical program management, engineering program management, or security program management 5+ years directing large-scale cross-functional programs with hands-on experience in automotive, robotics, aerospace, or comparable safety-critical, physically-deployed systems Deep knowledge of vehicle systems architecture, embedded platform design patterns, and onboard/offboard infrastructure patterns Background developing security-focused technical programs including secure boot infrastructure, vehicle identity and access frameworks, onboard credential systems, or vehicle-to-cloud security solutions Working knowledge of ISO 21434 and UNECE R155/R156 automotive cybersecurity standards and their application to program governance Success managing dependencies and team coordination across hardware and software engineering organizations over extended development and release cycles Preferred: experience with safety case development or functional safety management (ISO 26262, ASPICE) in automotive or autonomous vehicle contexts; expertise in vehicle security domains including secure communications protocols, OTA update security, or fleet credential provisioning; knowledge of automotive supplier security or OEM integration requirements; familiarity…
