You'll take ownership of critical inventory accounting functions, developing expertise in reconciliation processes, variance analysis, and financial reporting. Your work will directly impact the accuracy of our balance sheet and financial statements, making you an essential member of our accounting department. What You'll Do Reconcile inventory accounts and subsidiary ledgers to the general ledger, investigating and resolving discrepancies Prepare and process journal entries related to inventory transactions, including physical counts, adjustments, and write-offs Perform variance analysis on inventory balances and investigate significant deviations from expectations Support the monthly and quarterly financial close process, ensuring timely and accurate inventory account reporting Maintain detailed documentation of inventory accounting activities and reconciliation work for audit purposes Collaborate with operational teams to understand inventory movements and resolve accounting issues Review and verify inventory valuation methodologies and calculations Assist with special projects and ad hoc accounting analysis as needed Who We're Looking For Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field, or equivalent work experience Minimum 2–3 years of accounting experience, with focus on inventory accounting or general ledger accounting Strong proficiency with Excel and accounting software systems Detail-oriented with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills Ability to work independently and meet strict deadlines during financial close periods Clear communication skills and ability to explain complex accounting matters to non-accountants Knowledge of accounting principles and GAAP standards Experience with ERP systems is a plus Working at Racetrac At Racetrac, we value our people and foster a collaborative environment where your contributions make a real difference.
