Staff Accountant

About the Role

As a Staff Accountant at Hydro-Chem Systems, you'll be a key contributor to the day-to-day financial operations of a growing manufacturing company. You'll support accurate, timely reporting across general accounting functions while working alongside a team that values ownership — literally. What You'll Do

• Maintain the general ledger and ensure accuracy across all journal entries
• Support monthly, quarterly, and year-end close cycles, including account reconciliations and accruals
• Process and reconcile accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions
• Perform bank and balance sheet reconciliations on a regular schedule
• Assist with inventory and cost accounting in coordination with operations
• Prepare supporting schedules and documentation for internal and external audits
• Contribute to financial reporting and variance analysis to support management decisions
• Identify process improvement opportunities within the accounting function

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a closely related field
• 1–3 years of accounting experience, ideally in a manufacturing or product-based environment
• Solid understanding of GAAP and core accounting principles
• Proficiency with accounting software or ERP systems; strong Microsoft Excel skills
• High attention to detail and strong organizational habits
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet recurring deadlines
• CPA candidacy or progress toward licensure is a plus
