Role Overview

At Samsara, we’re building the connected operations cloud to transform the world’s physical operations. Our Identity and Access Management (IAM) team secures access for millions of users and protects the integrity of over 2.3 million connected devices worldwide. We’re looking for a Senior Software Engineer to drive innovation and resilience across Samsara‘s IAM platform.

What You Will Do

Design and evolve IAM foundations for AI Agents, including agent identity, permission guardrails, and enterprise-grade audit systems. Design and build authentication and authorization systems that are reliable, standards-based, and performant for millions of global users.

Requirements

• 6+ years of experience building and operating production software using modern engineering practices
• Strong understanding of cloud security, IAM systems, threat models, and mitigations
• Strong programming/coding fundamentals in a language such as Java, Python, or Golang
• Experience designing and operating highly reliable, scalable distributed systems
• Experience building security-sensitive or identity-related systems in production
• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent experience
• Strong communication skills and ability to influence without direct authority
