Specimen Processor/ Lab Accessioner (Overnight)

Rocky Mountain Laboratories LLC is seeking a detail-driven Specimen Processor / Lab Accessioner for our overnight shift in Aurora, Arapahoe County, Colorado. About the Role

As an overnight Specimen Processor / Lab Accessioner, you are the first checkpoint in the testing journey. You receive, log, and prepare patient samples so they reach the right departments ready for analysis. Working independently and as part of a small night team, you help ensure that timely, accurate results begin with flawless intake.

Key Responsibilities

• Receive and inspect incoming specimens for proper labeling, integrity, and accompanying documentation.
• Accession samples by entering patient and order details accurately into the laboratory information system.
• Sort, centrifuge, aliquot, and route specimens to the appropriate testing areas.
• Identify and resolve discrepancies, flagging compromised or mislabeled samples per protocol.
• Maintain a clean, organized workspace and follow all safety and quality standards.
• Support smooth handoffs between the overnight shift and incoming daytime staff.

Qualifications

• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy under time pressure.
• Comfortable with data entry and learning laboratory software systems.
• Ability to work overnight hours reliably and on a consistent schedule.
• Capable of standing for extended periods and handling repetitive tasks.
• Prior experience in a clinical laboratory, specimen processing, or accessioning is a plus.
• Able to follow established procedures while communicating clearly with team members.
