Role overview (listing rewrite)

Monogram is hiring a Software Engineering Intern to join our San Mateo team and help shape the first visual interface built for AI. If you love building at the edge of what's possible, this on-site, full-time internship puts you in the room where the next generation of human-AI interaction is being invented. About the Role As a Software Engineering Intern at Monogram, you'll contribute directly to the core AI systems and dynamically generated graphical interfaces that reimagine how people interact with artificial intelligence. Working alongside a small, deeply technical group of engineers and designers, you'll tackle open-ended problems in territory no one has mapped yet. This is a full-time, in-person role based in San Mateo, California. Key Responsibilities Build and refine the foundational AI technology powering Monogram's on-the-fly interface generation. Help create graphical user experiences that respond and adapt to what a person is trying to accomplish in the moment. Partner closely with seasoned engineers and designers to solve novel challenges in unexplored problem spaces. Prototype quickly, iterate on ideas, and take ownership of pieces of an ambitious product vision. Qualifications Early in your career — a current student, recent graduate, or someone in a first role — with a strong drive to build. A solid grounding in computer science, mathematics, physics, or engineering, whether earned at a leading school or self-taught through your own determination. A track record in demanding competitions is a plus: math, CS, or physics olympiads, AMC/AIME, engineering contests, Kaggle, quant competitions, hackathons, and the like. A genuine maker — the type who spends free time hacking on side projects, prototyping, or digging into research papers. Standout academic achievement, such as a Fulbright award or top ranking in your department, is welcome. Fast to learn, comfortable with ambiguity, and motivated by curiosity and initiative. About Monogram Monogram is building the first visual user interface for AI. Because our brains process imagery far faster than text, we pair voice with interfaces generated in real time — delivering experiences far richer than any chatbot. Our software can render hundreds of thousands of distinct, cohesive interfaces in just a…
