About the Role As Site Safety and Health Officer, you'll be the frontline advocate for worker safety and health standards across Thalle's project portfolio. You'll work directly with project teams, field management, and corporate leadership to develop, implement, and oversee comprehensive safety programs that protect our workforce and meet all applicable OSHA requirements and industry standards. What You'll Do Conduct regular safety inspections and site audits to identify hazards and potential compliance gaps Lead safety training sessions and toolbox talks for field crews on topics including fall protection, equipment operation, hazard communication, and incident prevention Investigate workplace incidents and near-misses, document findings, and recommend corrective actions to prevent recurrence Develop and maintain safety protocols, procedures, and documentation aligned with OSHA standards and company policies Track safety metrics, prepare reports for management review, and identify trends that guide continuous improvement Collaborate with project managers and supervisors to ensure safety requirements are integrated into daily operations Stay current with evolving regulations and industry best practices in construction safety What We're Looking For OSHA 30-hour certification (Construction card) required; additional credentials such as CSP, CHST, or SSTS a plus Proven experience as a site safety professional, safety manager, or safety coordinator in heavy civil or commercial construction Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations, construction standards, and hazard recognition in dynamic job site environments Excellent communication and training skills; ability to engage field teams at all levels Detail-oriented with strong documentation and record-keeping practices Ability to work independently and manage multiple sites or responsibilities Valid driver's license and willingness to travel between project locations About Thalle Construction Company Since 1947, Thalle Construction Company has delivered heavy civil construction projects across the Southeast, Texas, New Jersey, and beyond.
