About the Role

As a Serviceman with Cook County Government, you will work with limited oversight to deliver dependable, high-quality upkeep across District grounds and properties in Central Harlem, Manhattan. The position blends manual labor with technical skill, calling for steady proficiency in maintenance, repair, construction, and servicing tasks.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out a range of skilled maintenance, repair, and construction tasks across District grounds and properties.
• Use hand tools, mechanical tools, and equipment safely and effectively to complete assignments.
• Operate a variety of light and heavy vehicles in support of servicing and upkeep work.
• Perform routine maintenance on vehicles and equipment to keep them in reliable working order.
• Work independently under minimal supervision while maintaining a high standard of craftsmanship.

Qualifications

• Practical experience with skilled manual labor, including the use of hand and mechanical tools.
• Ability to operate and service both light and heavy vehicles and equipment.
• Working knowledge of maintenance, repair, and construction methods.
• Capacity to work with minimal supervision and manage tasks responsibly.
• A safety-conscious approach and dependable, results-driven work ethic.
