Interview prep

Fit summary

Strong fit if you are a senior visual designer comfortable owning craft quality in a U.S.-based, non-remote-flagged role at DEPT®. Do not rely on the mismatched “Dept.” news/HN items in raw feeds—they are not validated employer sentiment for this company.

Day in the role

As Senior, Visual Design at DEPT®, expect ownership of high-visibility visual systems: brand and campaign craft, UI/visual direction, critique with product and creative partners, and mentoring more junior designers. Days typically mix exploration (mood, layout, type, motion cues), production polish, stakeholder reviews, and handoff-ready assets—without remote-only constraints called out in the post.

Skills to emphasize

Prioritize senior-level craft: visual systems and typography, Figma (or equivalent) component rigor, art direction for multi-channel work, and clear critique/feedback. No certification path is specified for this family in the provided cert data.
