Day-to-Day Responsibilities Design, build, and ship production automation services, scripts, and workflows that eliminate repetitive work and improve reliability. Integrate automation layers with internal services, external APIs, event streams, and data stores so systems operate without continuous manual oversight. Instrument, observe, and harden automation pipelines, responding to failures and continuously reducing operational toil. Partner with stakeholders to scope automation opportunities, estimate effort, and deliver incremental value against clear success metrics. Perform design and code reviews, establish automation patterns and libraries, and coach other engineers on maintainable automation practices. Evaluate new automation frameworks, orchestration tools, and platform capabilities and introduce those that clearly improve quality or speed. Skills & Qualifications Demonstrated senior-level software engineering experience with a strong focus on building and operating Automations in production environments. Advanced proficiency in languages and tooling commonly used for Automations, including Python or equivalent, along with robust API and system-integration skills. Hands-on expertise with workflow engines, CI/CD automation, cloud infrastructure, container runtimes, and observability stacks that keep automated systems healthy. Proven ability to design scalable, resilient automation solutions capable of handling complex business logic and variable load. Clear written and verbal communication that works well across hybrid and remote collaboration models; experience mentoring engineers is valued. Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related discipline, or equivalent professional background delivering automation systems at scale.
