About the Role As a Senior Scientist I / II focused on tLNP formulation, you will work within AbbVie's tLNP drug product development group, supporting the progression of targeted lipid nanoparticle assets from First-in-Human (FIH) studies through Phase 2. This is a full-time, on-site position based in North Chicago, Lake County, offering deep involvement in formulation science for an emerging therapeutic modality. Key Responsibilities Advance clinical-stage tLNP drug products across the development pipeline, from FIH through Phase 2 clinical phases. Design, develop, and optimize targeted lipid nanoparticle formulations to meet drug product quality and performance objectives. Partner closely with biologics discovery teams to translate candidate assets into robust, manufacturable formulations. Coordinate with internal CMC partners and external manufacturing organizations to enable scalable drug product supply. Collaborate cross-functionally with Clinical Operations, Regulatory Affairs, and Quality Assurance to support development milestones. Document formulation work and contribute scientific input to development plans and technical decisions. Qualifications Background in pharmaceutical sciences, formulation development, or a closely related scientific discipline. Hands-on experience with lipid nanoparticle or comparable drug product formulation is highly valued. Understanding of CMC development for clinical-stage assets and the requirements of early- to mid-phase clinical programs. Strong collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across discovery, manufacturing, regulatory, and quality functions. Level (Senior Scientist I versus II) will be determined based on the depth and breadth of relevant experience.
