About the Role As a Senior Revenue Accountant on Honeycomb.io's Finance team, you'll own critical pieces of our revenue close and ensure every dollar is recognized correctly under U.S. GAAP. This remote, full-time position is ideal for an analytical, detail-driven accountant who thrives on continuous improvement, scalable processes, and partnering across teams in a fast-moving SaaS environment. Key Responsibilities Support the monthly revenue close by preparing journal entries and reconciling revenue, deferred revenue, and unbilled receivable accounts. Review standard and non-standard contracts to determine proper recognition under ASC 606, and prepare and document the annual standalone selling price (SSP) analysis, applying allocations consistently. Oversee the order-to-cash workflow, validating sales orders, managing enterprise invoicing, and producing the weekly accounts receivable aging report with proactive collections outreach. Maintain customer billing portals and payment applications, resolving discrepancies for an accurate, positive billing experience. Validate data within Zuora Revenue and reconcile revenue reports to the general ledger in line with ASC 606. Draft technical accounting memos covering SSP, contract modifications, variable consideration, and principal vs. agent conclusions. Partner with Sales, Customer Success, Revenue Operations, and FP&A to gather data, drive automation, and improve close quality. Serve as the point of contact for sales and VAT tax matters, including nexus research, jurisdictional registration, and taxability decisions, and support the annual external audit. Qualifications BS in Accounting or Finance with 4+ years of relevant experience. Deep command of GAAP and ASC 606, including applying it to complex SaaS and usage- or consumption-based revenue models. Experience building and maintaining revenue recognition models and forecasts. NetSuite or comparable ERP experience required, plus contract review and order-to-cash exposure. Proficiency in Google Sheets and Microsoft Excel, and experience with international subsidiaries and consolidations. Strong organization, time management, and communication skills, with the ability to juggle priorities against weekly and monthly deadlines.
